A smooth white firing stoneware clay with remarkable plastic strength. Ideal for throwing and all handbuilding techniques. It can also be used for sculpture and slab work. It is beautifully white and is a smooth 120s mesh production body that offers great glaze fit with most standard stoneware glazes. It is a very "dense" body to throw, giving great strength and workability. It resists absorbing water so does not soften while throwing. It is ideal for making functional ware.
Made in Victoria, Australia using Australian and imported materials.
This bowl is made in PB103 Fine White Stoneware by Avril Farley. Glazed with her own macro-crystalline glaze. Fired to 1250°C, then fired down in several hour long stages to produce the zinc silicate crystals.
