This Revesible Turning Lathe is built to give a long trouble free life with little maintenance.  Construction consists of a 6mm steel base.  At each end there are two aluminium plates with bearings mounted.  The shaft is 35mm diameter with a I' Whitworth thread.  A 0.5hp AC motor transfers drive to the shaft via a V belt and pulley.  Speed is controlled by an AC electronic speed controller, which also has a reversing facility, and the speed is varied by a hand operated knob  A foot operated control is available as an optional extra. The machine is totally enclosed for protection and includes an adjustable tool rest.
