Normally used as a secondary insulation, Superwood HT Fibre Paper has an appearance similar to blotting paper and can be easily cut with scissors. Instead of using sand or batt wash, we recommend using Superwool HT Fibre Paper on your kiln shelf to prevent glaze drips or pots sticking to the shelf – a problem that can ruin both your kiln shelf and pot.

This refractory paper can be cut to a footprint slightly larger than the pot standing on it, and will also withstand several firings to stoneware temperatures before starting to crumble.  To make packing even easier, why not simply cut the paper to the exact size of your kiln shelf (batt).

Superwool HT Fibre Paper

Superwoolo HT Fibre Paper is a Alkaline Earth Silicate Fibre (AES) bulk made from a unique low biopersistence fibre Superwool®

Superwool® paper is resistant to chemical attack and is non-wetting to molten aluminium. It is the only low bio-persistence fibre available with a classification temperature of 1300°C (2372°F). 

Superwool® fibres are exonerated and are not classified as carcinogenic by IARC or under any national regulations on a global basis. They have no requirements for warning labels under GHS (Globally Harmonised System for the classification and labelling of chemicals). In Europe, Superwool® fibres meet the requirements specified under NOTA Q of European Directive 67/548. All Superwool® fibre products are therefore exempt from the classification and labelling regulation in Europe.
